Wood movement is most often associated with fluctuations in humidity. Therefore, try to keep the relative humidity in the area of your wooden furniture between 30% and 40%, and avoid any sudden temperature changes. Exposure, especially sudden, of wood to humidity can cause damage to your furniture such as cracks or twisting. Therefore, it is preferable not to expose your furniture near an air duct so that it is not subject to variations in air temperature. In winter, the climate is even harsher and drier, so you have to be particularly careful during this difficult period. Protection against chemicals, sun and other heat sources: Avoid exposing your furniture directly to the sun; contact with UV rays may discolor it or even cause the wood to crack. Throughout the seasons, all furniture undergoes changes, due to changes in temperature and ambient humidity, leading to slight cracks. All these differences are not defects but on the contrary affirm the particularity of your wooden furniture. Be careful not to place hot objects on the furniture, heat can alter the composition of the furniture and leave marks. This problem can be circumvented by installing resistant trivets. Be careful, if you place decorative objects, place pads under them beforehand. NORMAL FEATURES OF SOLID WOOD FURNITURELike any living material, different nuances can occur through the finish. Even if the finish used is similar, a variation in color, shade, appearance or shade between several pieces of furniture but also on the same piece of furniture may occur. As well as knots, cabinetmaking products (wood pulp, epoxy, etc.) or assembly lines may be visible through the painted surface and for certain pieces of furniture this may be a deliberately desired aspect. Ready-to-assemble products should be handled with care and caution. Inspect every part and hardware BEFORE assembly. Claims for parts and/or hardware must be made PRIOR to assembly. Damage resulting from assembly errors and/or improper handling of parts, including scratches, is not covered by this warranty. |
